It's that post-holiday cleaning time so let's get a new batch of DIY cleaning wipes ready to go!
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COUNTER CLEAN & OUR CONCENTRATE
When clients see we have an All-Purpose Cleaner Concentrate & Counter Clean, I usually get asked what the difference is between the two. One commonality is they both use the same cleaning technology which is the dirt-repelling barrier they create with continued use.
The most obvious difference is in the name. All-Purpose Cleaner Concentrate is a concentrate & must be diluted. It makes 96 fl. oz. or approximately six, 16-fl. oz. bottles of cleaner. It's recommended for large areas & frequent use on sealed granite, stainless steel & most flooring such as sealed wood, tile, vinyl & linoleum.
WHY CREATE YOUR OWN INSTEAD OF USING COUNTER CLEANER?
The main difference comes in when we're talking about the pH of each product. All-Purpose Cleaner Concentrate has a higher pH level which means it will be more effective in tackling bigger messes & cutting through oils & film more effectively.
Counter Cleaner is great for light oils, everyday messes, & smaller dirt particles & recommended for use on all sealed nonporous surfaces, including granite, laminate, treated wood, & concrete.
I personally prefer Counter Cleaner as a quick wipe down & All-Purpose Cleaner Concentrate in my mop water or these DIY cleaning wipes!
CREATING YOUR OWN CLEANING WIPES
Grab the necessary supplies:
Any older wash cloths or cheap ones from a dollar store
Half gallon mason jar
4 cups of warm water
1/2-1 cup of APC (based on preference). Suggested ratio is 4:1.
Add the water to your mason jar & slowly pour in the All-Purpose Cleaner Concentrate. I find if I use the recommended amount (4:1 ratio), the wash cloths become too sudsy so I prefer to use less & add in if necessary.
Gently mix with a spoon & slowly add in your wash cloths. When you're ready to clean, open the lid, wring out any excess, & clean away! Depending on how many wash cloths you originally used, you may still have extra liquid left over to add more clean cloths.
Happy cleaning!
