Why does this Scentsy Bar last longer + how to choose one that will last.

How long does a Scentsy Bar last? Why is it that this Scentsy Bar can last for days... & this one only lasts a couple of hours? Well, it all has to do with the fragrance pyramid.

THE FRAGRANCE PYRAMID

Fragrance Pyramid

TOP FRAGRANCE NOTES

At the very top of the pyramid, we have our top notes. Top notes are going to be what we smell first. These scents are normally lighter, fresher. Think like zesty citrus, basil, peppermint, sea salt, those ozonic-type scents. The fresh-type scents normally have the shortest lifespan & if you start warming a scent & you don't like it, just give it a little bit to get down to the heart notes because those are the ones that make up the majority of the fragrance.

Now these top notes are going to be what you're going to smell first when you start warming it in your warmer or if you're just going to smell the bar cold. That's why we always say if you don't like a bar cold, we still want you to give it a chance because you're really only smelling those initial top notes. That's also why we say... if you're smelling it cold, flip it over & smell the bottom because the bottom is going to smell a little bit different than the top.

So if you are a huge fan of citrus, or again, those fresh type scents, those scents unfortunately are not going to last that long for you.

HEART FRAGRANCE NOTES

Next up we have the middle of the pyramid which is going to be those heart notes. These are going to linger a little bit longer than our top notes. So think of these as our fruity scents, those floral notes, even spices. If you're a fan of any of those notes, & the bar is in the fruity category or the spice category, it's going to last a little bit longer for you.

BASE FRAGRANCE NOTES

Once the top & heart notes evaporate off, we are left with the base notes. These notes tend to be the most intense like wood, musk, amber, or those bakery-type scents like vanilla. Now you might have noticed that you prefer a fall & winter since over spring & summer & that normally is because they last a longer time because of those heavy & rich scents

PREFER CONSISTENCY?

If you would prefer a more consistent scent, I would highly suggest trying out a Wall Fan Diffuser or a regular Diffuser because those are going to allow you to have an instant + consistent scent experience.

If you've been curious about how many cubes you should be putting in your warmer definitely check out this video.
